Peach Cake: Grandma Kate’s Delicious Recipe

Peach Cake

An Easy Peach Cake Recipe For Any Occasion

Have you ever been lucky enough to have someone come into your life who constantly reminds you what it means to be a good person?

Seventeen years ago I was blessed with meeting the woman who would be the grandmother of my children.

She’s one of the most selfless, caring, and honest women I know. She has taught me many things throughout the years, and her recipes have helped me impress my family and friends over and over.

My 16-year-old daughter begs me all the time to make this cake. I finally taught her how to make it recently, so she doesn’t have to bug me all the time for it!

Now she has the recipe and can use it to impress her friends and family in the years to come!

Just follow these easy steps, and you will be sure to impress your guests with this delicious peach-filled dessert!

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • egg whites (according to cake instructions)
  • vegetable oil (according to cake instructions)
  • water (according to cake instructions)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (reserve half for top of the cake)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (reserve 1/4 for the top of the cake)
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tsp flour (adjust as needed for desired “gravy” thickness)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°

Prepare cake mix according to box instructions

Mixer

Pour cake mix into greased 9×13 cake pan

Pour peaches (syrup included) into a medium saucepan

Add butter, half of the cinnamon, and 3/4 of the sugar to the saucepan with peaches (add as much cinnamon as you like- I like to add extra!)

Let peaches simmer for 5 minutes

Peach Cake

Remove peaches from the sauce and plop on top of the cake mix

Peach Cake

Bake cake for 45-55 minutes, checking occasionally for doneness

While the cake is baking, add flour to syrup in the saucepan, turn up to medium heat and whisk until it begins to thicken. This is the “gravy” for the cake.

Remove cake from oven and sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and sugar (add more if you like!)
